MOU Signed Between Keystone Renewable Energy and Geothermal Resources to Advance Geothermal Energy Development in Malaysia
Keystone Renewable Energy Pte. Ltd. ("Keystone") and Geothermal Resources Sdn. Bhd. ("GRSB") are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly research, develop, and utilize geothermal energy resources in Malaysia. This collaboration marks a significant step toward accelerating the nation’s clean energy transition and enhancing energy security.
This MOU aligns closely with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap (MyRER), which aim to increase the share of renewables in the energy mix and promote indigenous, low-carbon resources. The joint efforts between Keystone and GRSB will support these national objectives by fostering innovation in geothermal technology, developing local talent, and unlocking Malaysia’s untapped geothermal potential.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to responsible energy development,” said a Keystone spokesperson. “By combining Keystone’s international project experience with GRSB’s local knowledge and academic strength, we are confident this initiative will complement Malaysia’s policy direction and pave the way for long-term sustainable growth in the renewable energy sector.”
The collaboration will focus on identifying geothermal resources, conducting feasibility studies, and exploring scalable project models that benefit both the economy and the environment.
